For decades now, Doppler technology has been used in order to identify Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) in symptomatic patients. It’s always been more than enough before, but recent breakthroughs in modern ABI technology has led to the manufacturing of the QUANTAFLO™ Peripheral Arterial Disease Test.

Tests Performed
As mentioned, the QUANTAFLO™ PAD test involves an entirely different testing procedure. For one, unlike with most ABI tests, the patient will not need to rest in a supine position (it’s recommended, but seated tests are possible for patients who have poor lower body mobility.)
For the actual test, the sensor clamp is used for both feet first then followed by both arms. Then, the proprietary algorithm will do the rest of the work. Results should come in within a couple of minutes (using the full-page reporting software.)
It is, by far, one of the most intuitive methods of testing for ABI in the market. Which has made it standard for primary care officers, specialty practices, health fairs, and even for home assessments.
